G&L Roundtable 2013

     Sunday September 22nd & Monday September 23rd

Although the G&L Roundtable continues to be one of the most sought after forums in our industry, we steadfastly continue to honor our commitment that it remain a private invitation-only G&L Community forum thus making it an enjoyable and rich experience for all who attend. The G&L Roundtable shapes the landscape of innovation and business processes in gaming and hospitality by providing in one room, the very people who can foster that change. In addition to a variety of CXOs in attendance each year, the G&L Roundtable hosts the most gaming CIOs in one private forum in North America. The most important G&L Roundtable asset is the amazing leaders who attend, the time they dedicate, and the new terrain they carve for all of us in the industry.

Mike Day, VP & CIO, Cannery Resorts and Founder of TribalNet
“I’ve been enjoying Gaming & Leisure Magazine for 10 years. I’ve met a lot of great people during that timeframe as a result of the G&L Roundtable and other ways the magazine has brought people together. But what I think I’ve enjoyed most is getting to know Jeannie and to be able to call her my friend. Congratulations Jeannie and the G&L crew!”

David Farlin, CIO, Boyd Gaming Corp.
"I look forward to the G&L Roundtable each year. It's the only venue where so many Executives get together and speak openly about issues affecting the gaming and hospitality industry. It is also an opportunity to network with peers and learn how other companies are dealing with issues that are similar to your own. I have attended each of the previous Roundtables and it has always been a productive and valuable event."

Monica Nerger, Global CIO, The Americas Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group

“The G&L Roundtable is an insider’s view and opportunity to understand the real issues in today’s technology environment. It is an open, honest, and refreshing discussion with key technology influencers, unlike any other forum in the industry.”

Bobby Soper, CEO, Mohegan Sun
"One of the great obstacles in this industry has been the inability to effectively share best practices and ensure that all the disparate technology systems and processes are integrated. The G&L Roundtable is a rare and valuable opportunity for information technology leaders and business leaders from across the country to share and leverage ideas to overcome these obstacles. As a result of the Roundtable, the industry as a whole can more effectively communicate to manufacturers and suppliers our specific issues and needs so that they can more effectively design and manufacture products with our needs in mind.”

Dwight Terrance, CIO Grand Casinos
“Gaming & Leisure magazine always hits the sweet spot in the industry. G&L has a team of professionals that understand the industry, provides unique insight, and sharing of best practices that is a valuable reference for me. The G&L Roundtable, that is sponsored by G&L, is the best event, for networking and sharing of information among my colleagues, that I have ever attended. This event is also represented with a high degree of industry independence, which adds to the value of this event.

Les Leonard, CIO, Seneca Gaming Corporation
“I found the G&L Roundtable to be a valuable experience. There was an immediate comfort in talking with IT and other Gaming professionals who understand the day to day concerns in our industry. The G&L Roundtable provides a great venue and platform for peers to discuss industry trends and address our concerns to vendors with a singular voice. One would be remiss if they did not take advantage of the opportunity to tap into the shared experience and knowledge of 50 plus CXO professionals in our industry."

Sheleen Quish, SVP of HR and IT, Ameristar Casinos Inc.
“The G&L Roundtable provides the most open, candid and productive sharing process I have experienced as a CIO. I have been in a variety of other industries over the years and this forum is unique and valuable. Sharing best practices and insights makes our industry stronger and more effective dealing with the unique business challenges we all face.”

John Kenefick, VP of IT, Pechanga Resort & Casino

“The Gaming & Leisure Roundtable is one of those events as an IT leader you just cannot miss. It is a rare chance to network with casino technology leaders in a very open environment. The event allows fellow CIO’s the opportunity to discuss challenges & successes in our industry and to find out what others are doing in our vertical. I personally look forward to attending each year to share experiences.”

Don Kneisel, VP of IT, Resorts Casino Hotel

“The G&L Roundtable is engaging, and the topics were relevant to what is important to me. I enjoyed meeting new IT leaders and seeing old friends.” Who could put a value on a meeting of all the IT leaders in our industry in one place? No politics. Just frank discussions. Sharing thoughts, feelings, and insights. Wow!”

Rob Willis, VP of IT, M Resort Casino & Spa
“I enjoy reading G&L magazine and participating in the G&L Roundtable. Our community is surprisingly small and although many of us are competitors we set aside that aspect and focus on the state of the industry, technology and the challenges that we have in common. The sharing of opinions during open and frank discussions is the best way to be enlightened to new ideas or serve to reinforce our own opinions.”

Marlon Ortiz, VP of IT, ACEP, LLC.
"Gaming & Leisure continues to address the need for a medium to exchange relevant technical and professional information for the benefit of the Gaming IT community. The annual Roundtable affords myself and my peers across the country an opportunity to brainstorm and share information in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. G&L and the G&L Roundtable are essential to all IT Professionals and are unsurpassed with in our industry."

Fred Brown, VP of IT, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs

“2012 provided another outstanding G&L Roundtable! Jeannie & team made this the premier event for gaining priceless insight and networking opportunities in the gaming industry. Not only can you meet with top gaming leaders and vendors, but you can actually have rich unfiltered discussions with them about the industry’s hottest topics. Already looking forward to next year!”

Peter Broughton, Director of MIS, Eldorado Hotel Casino
“With the increasing reliance on IT to improve business efficiencies, extend marketing reach, reduce labor costs and add value to customer relationships, it is absolutely essential that a forum the caliber of the G&L Roundtable exists as well as its publication. It creates an opportunity for each member to bring their own perspective and experiences to the forefront and help define best practices for the entire industry. With the rapid technological changes we're experiencing, no one can afford to operate on an island. I'm grateful to have such a resource available.”

Peter Caster, Director of Gaming Systems, Foxwoods
“It is a great opportunity to put your own thoughts and concerns into perspective. The G&L Roundtable is an effective means to frame today’s biggest opportunities.”

Steve Edwards, IT Director, Jacobs Entertainment Inc.
In most industries you rarely get a chance to meet with your peers in an environment where you can discuss important issues.  We obviously all are competitive, but in the G&L Roundtable we all try to solve the issues in the industry, as well as the issues internal to our own companies.  We all have a lot of demands on our time but this is one commitment that I look forward too and is beneficial.  Gaming and Leisure has been putting this event and the magazine together for the last 10 years, it is nice to have a publication that is committed to the IT needs of the gaming industry.

Jared Hofstad, I.T/MIS Manager, Seven Clans Casino Thief River Falls
The G&L Roundtable event feels like a “think tank” with a twist. It is a group of people providing insight and foresight with each other for the betterment of themselves as well as the industry as a whole.

John Murphy, Sr. Director of MIS, Mountaineer Gaming
“The annual G&L Roundtable is one of the most important forums on my calendar every year. The value of the top 65 plus CXOs in the gaming industry in one room discussing the challenges we all have providing the proper value of IT to the business is incredible. Being able to visit with the business leaders within the G&L Community that supplies the goods and services to our industry allows direct communications of the industry IT needs back to the manufacturers.  I have been attending this once a year occasion since 2004 and I look forward to continuing to watch the Roundtable community mature and have a real opportunity to change the way that technology is utilized in gaming and hospitality.”

Shannon Provence, Executive Director of IT, Golden Nugget Casinos
“It’s great to see the large participation and growth of the G&L Roundtable. The session has great information on a variety of subjects. A great forum.”
