Executive Information

The G&L Roundtable forum is unlike any other event in North America. It’s a private peer to peer Roundtable forum without booths, banners, session tracks etc. It’s not an organization, although organizations have grown out of it. In fact, many important industry initiatives have resulted from previous Roundtables including the original concept for the HTNG Gaming Sig, the original recognition of the gaming sector for benchmarking purposes from MIT’s Sloan Institute of Management, The North American Gaming CIOs Whitepaper to the industry, the G&L Interoperability Award, the G&L Gaming & Hospitality Award Series and much more. The Roundtable is purposely crafted to be free of the typical executive format or endless sessions of material not exceptionally worthy of a CXOs valuable time.

The Roundtable format is predominantly self-moderated peer to peer knowledge sharing shaped by key industry peer thought leaders who provide expert insight on key topics relevant to those in attendance. Each year the Roundtable seeks to provide meaningful change in our industry by the very people who can shape that change.

The G&L Roundtable as one CXO stated, is the ‘Cheers Bar’ for CXOs; he quotes, "I would hope that the Roundtable maintains a friendly and helpful atmosphere. Posturing is not allowed. Nor is self-aggrandizement. In this room we’re all equal regardless of how big our stock grant is. Criticizing others or their ideas is definitely not allowed, whether in the room or not and whether in IT or not. What is allowed is open, honest, and vulnerable thoughts and points of view. Helpful suggestions of others facing the same issues are always nice. In our business, misery loves company (but only as long as it takes to get rid of the problems). This is like the Cheers bar for CXOs… a place where others like me go, where I can feel like I’m not going crazy in this hectic world by gaining some affirmation of others facing the same challenges.”

Feedback tells us that when the executives leave the G&L Roundtable they believe they have obtained an upgraded tool belt from which to pull from to tackle challenges in the coming year and in many cases a retooled list of priorities and certainly a deeper connection to their peer network.

The G&L Roundtable is held every year on the Sunday and Monday before G2E. For 2012 this will be September 30th and October 1st, 2012. Sunday is the leisure golf invitational including dinner, prizes and cocktails. Monday is the private Roundtable forum culminating in the Roundtable reception-- a must attend evening of the year for those in gaming and hospitality.

As the mission of the G&L Roundtable is to enhance the landscape of gaming and hospitality innovation and operations, there is no cost for G&L Roundtable property CXOs to attend. The most important asset of the G&L Roundtable is the amazing industry leaders who attend, the time they dedicate, and the new terrain they carve for all of us in the industry.
